So I was watching Ep 10 this morning [The Lost Track of Doom] when in a scene I realised that despite Propheci's design portrayed as being unique because he's the crew leader, there are many other orange dragons in his crew that look just like him. Whilst on the topic of Orange Draconium and the Prophets, I also recall in another episode (to which I have a screenshot for) where some spectators are wearing clothing with the Prophets symbol on them... in Mid City. They obviously don't belong to the crew, and I wonder whether they know of the true nature of the Prophets crew or if that symbol is yet another that a 'modern' crew has taken from an original Draconium Empire. The original Orange Draconium Empire did help the original DB, so in a historical sense they can be considered good, and especially so if a person doesn't know of the current Prophets crew or the intense domineering nature of a pure orange dragon.
Which brings me to my other point- as said several times by the Magna D., the dragons on tracks today are obviously not pure, and their colours and classes are a mix of different colour percentages, which means it's quite likely that if that spectator has a dragon, it would probably contain a good amount of orange draconium in it's bones considering the rider is a fan of the Prophets/Orange Draconium Empire. Which makes me wonder what it might look like considering it was never really elaborated on whether the Prophets dragons are pure orange or not, also keeping in mind a few of them are fully evolved too (which prompts me to think that dragons can evolve on their own rather than needing a rider to "draw out" their primary draconium influence to evolve them).
Thoughts on this?

First off, This IS an interesting topic. I may take a crack at some designs myself. BUT I'm gonna say right up front and I really hate to break it to you but the reason there are Prophet dragons the look like Propheci is because Nerd Corp was REALLY NEW when they started Dragon Booster, Ergo there are LOTS of animation glitches in the show Like copy/paste/photoshop dragons, wrong colors and even incomplete faces throughout the series. I do point this point fairly thoroughly in my review, if I can just get around to FINISHING it for a 2nd consecutive time... But it's an interesting subject none the less, I'll see what I can crank out.

Ok yeah, I can understand the copy/paste error in Propheci's design as you say. I've seen errors like that come up before- I can't remember the episode but once Beau's mag stream was of Black Draconium colour during a scene where the DB and SB were having a battle.
What about other riders in Mid City who support orange draconium and Control-class dragons?? There would have to be people who belong to those colours outside of Prophet territory, considering it's a colour that's represented in the Council of 12 (and a house in the Academy).

I do understand that and have noticed also humans wearing the symbol of the Prophets crew. I think it's interesting yet could possibly be a fashion statement. There's really not much for me to comment on with this. I think I do better with visual rather than written but maybe that's just me. I'll see what I can to for designing some street-class Orange dragons. Taking into account what one pedestrian said in "The Prophet's motive" "You know what they say about Orange dragons? (of that specific make and model) "The legends say they were bred for one thing: Dragon-Human War." Time to see what a street legal orange dragon could look like. Okay, here's what I got so far. Kitty thought it looked quite good. Funny thing, If you color his head pink (like a brain) he TOTALLY looks like a Prophet but since I didn't..... He looks like you could almost pass off/disguise him as a magma-class. Style 1 Style 2 Style 3 I added 2 more dragons to this post. Please tell me what you think.

You have to remember, that the counsel of twelve is supposed to REPRESENT the original 12 empires; so to me, it would only make sense for there to be at the very lest a representative crew for the prophets, even if they do ride (imperfect) orange control class dragons, it wouldn't nessessarily mean that they would be driven by the same principles as the real prophets crew. In a sense, they are more of a political position than an actual crew in my books because of this, lacking the occult mojo and behaving in a more modern way, they would still be treated fairly like any other crew. Ooooooooooooooor maybe they just needed to make some extras and that's all they could think of to use Great stuff Sis :]

@am: Please don't double post, there is an edit button! ^__^ It would seem like a very bold fashion statement to say "Hey everyone, I support starting a new D-H War but with dragons in the lead instead of Word Paynn!". I think it might be more plausible that the Prophet's crew symbol belonged to the ancient Orange Draconium Empire, much like it is now for the Dragon Flares and Grip of the Dragons. But then it begs us to ask the question- if as kitty and I say there is a minor Orange crew out there, what symbol would they use?? You have to remember, that the counsel of twelve is supposed to REPRESENT the original 12 empires; so to me, it would only make sense for there to be at the very lest a representative crew for the prophets, even if they do ride (imperfect) orange control class dragons, it wouldn't nessessarily mean that they would be driven by the same principles as the real prophets crew. In a sense, they are more of a political position than an actual crew in my books because of this, lacking the occult mojo and behaving in a more modern way, they would still be treated fairly like any other crew. Sooooo, essentially what I've been saying about a minor crew centered around Orange Draconium that is used to represent said colour in the Council and because it's a minor crew, it never gets a mention in the series as the major Orange Draconium crew are the ancient Prophets?

I like them, it's nice to see different dragon designs for Control-class! Though this was originally meant to be for discussion regarding Orange draconium in general rather than being used as an art concept thread ^__^;
Speaking of Orange draconium dragon design discussions though, do people actually think that the pink section of Control-class dragon's heads are it's actual exposed brain??

Don't worry, That was all I was going to do. Sorry about that. ^_^;
I be willing to say I really don't think it's their actual brain. I think it'd be more interesting to say it is simply colored that way but that kind of coloring is unique to the Control class.
The other theory going is that it IS their actual brain but it's protected by a crystal draconium skin because, let's face it, if THAT get hurt, the dragon is kaput! Little too easy a target in my books...

Yeah there are quite a few problems mechanic-wise if that was their actual brain, the foremost being not just easily damaged but the high risk of drying out. Yeah I admit I think it's a design feature- perhaps to emphasise they control the minds of their humans so they depict a brain in their design?

Actually, from what I've seen in the series, the giant Prophets aren't quite fully evolved. Sure, they've evolved, but not to the level of having improvements to their physique. If anything, they just got bigger, which yes that means they can mag blast harder, but Beau easily took them on after, what? Two months of training? Meanwhile academy evolved dragons such as Abandonn and Tyrannis Pax are much, much more powerful and also have more physical improvements for battle. So, while I can see dragons evolving without humans, it'd take quite a bit before they could reach that level of power, and keeping in mind that most dragons only live as long as humans that'd be near their natural lifespan.
I do agree with Blue though, it's probably a design on the prophet's head signalling what breed of dragon they are, control-class dragons. It could also because they're purer then most, addressed in one of the paragraphs below. I think I read somewhere (or it was the Q&A - I can't remember) that dragons aren't normally pure, but the Prophets have been in hiding for a long time, so it'd make sense that they are purer then most normal dragons. The control-class dragons we see in the city are probably much less pure, and had their vicious tendencies bred out of them to a small extent. Lance actually has a secondary draconium influence of orange, as does Cain, so I'd imagine that there are orange dragons bred for racing.
For the people wearing Prophet crew symbols, as someone previously mentioned, it is a council of twelve, and there are representatives of the original empires that aren't normally present, like the Keepers and the Mechanists to name the others. Technically it's only a council of nine, but those who are placekeepers help equal out the balance to twelve once more. It's more a thing of keeping tradition, then needing the crew to be present at all times. It's probably what's going to happen once Moordryd leaves for the academy, the rest of his crew is place holding the Dragon Eye's spot on the council until he returns. The council of twelve is actually based almost completely off the old empire system, so
Sorry for the essay... ;~;

Don't apologise, that was a beautiful response <3 That first paragraph is a REALLY good point against the evolved orange dragons. You're right in that they're shown to be far weaker than T. Pax or Abandonn, and Beau shouldn't be able to beat them that easily. I guess that really highlights then the necessity of humans and dragons to work together if they both want to reach their full potentials~ ^Thatthatthat. Put my exact thoughts into words that I was struggling to do so myself!! This is what I wanted to say And I didn't know Lance & Cain had secondary influences of orange, that is so weird!! They would have been the last on my list of suspects considering both act as sidekicks to main characters who are heroes/leaders- you would have thought the leaders would be more controlling It would have been interesting to ask the show creators why they chose this colour as a secondary influence for these particular characters! Yeah I wasn't entirely sure if it was a crew or just a small group of people who kept the spot, but I also remember reading on the Magna D. that those colours still have people representing them on the council despite the known crews themselves not actually being part of the council (though it would be hilarious to see Propheci wreck havoc in Council meetings haha!!).

On the subject of draconium colors, one of Word Payne's secondary colors is Orange too. Just tossing it out there. The way I see things with peoples color orientation is being similar to the Chinese elements in that it's more about when you were born rather than what you're attracted to. For example: My Chinese element are Metal and earth. The closest things to that for my OC are Black with secondaries being blue and brown. Metal= rigid, unyielding, never quit on a problem. Earth= Hard working, intelligent & reliable. black= cunning, sadistic tendencies & intelligent, ( I can be very sadistic) Blue= rigid & disciplined. Brown= Hard working, reliable. See the parallels here? At least I hope I'm not too off the ball here. [On the subject of Orange dragons in general] Check this out: I think I just found a street legal Orange dragon.... Or at lease a quadrupedal Orange dragon... taken from "Broken Bonds"

You assume that a person's personality is what attracts them to a particular colour, but the draconium influence is determined at birth- kinda like how you suggest about the Chinese elements except that it's the direct environment the person is born into that will affect what their draconium influence is. These 'environments' include things like elements that originally lead to that particular colour to evolve as well as being in direct contact with the colour itself e.g. Word works a lot with black draconium, Moordryd as a child would have been exposed to this, as well as raised in the type of environment in general which originally gave birth through evolution to black draconium.
Awesome screenshot by the way!! That's really cool and interesting to see an orange dragon, even if unpure, can be quadrupedal!
