Recently I've been feeling the nostalgia of games I played when I was a child, and I was wondering what you guys used to play. Mine would be:
For Windows 98 (God do I feel old):
Skyroads. Prehistorik 2. Gex. Tomb Raider. Lion King. Wingstar. Frogger. Pushover. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. Lego Chess. Star Wars Racer.
Windows XP:
Monsters Inc, Scare Island. Sacred. Devil May Cry 3.
There are probably more and I could fill your screen with game names, but anyway. What were your favorite games?

I've always been out of the greater loop when it comes to games. Old ones especially. Windows 95/98 and earlier than 2000/XP - Total Annihilation
- Slave Zero
- Uprising: Join or Die
- Outpost 2: Divided Destiny
- Need for Speed - Hot Pursuit 3
- Indendence Day
- Dark Colony
- Metal Knight
- EarthSiege 2
- Civilization 3
- Mission: Humanity
- Age of Empires
- Starcraft & Starcraft: Brood War
- Caesar III
- Chris Sawyer's Locomotion
- Gromada - Revenge
- Jedi Knight (Can't really remember which one)
- Gunlok
- SubCulture
- SimCity
- SimCity 2000
- pretty much all the other 'Sim' games.
And the list keeps going on and on with numerous demos and sharewares, most of which i remember playing but can't remember their name for the sake of me.

Oooh you played one of the earlier Civ games? I got started on 5/V and I love the series so much Heh, yeah. CivIII looks pretty basic, but the grade of complexity to which things tend to get? Holy Sid Meiers, they stop getting complicated when you finally get rid of every single civ except your own. I've then played both CivIV and V, and while IV was a nice game changer, CivV was kinda a let down. Sure, fancy dynamics and stuff, but most of the peculiarities from the earlier titles are DLC... After CivV i simply went like 'Screw it!', and instead of Beyond Earth i picked up Endless Legend. Not the most amazing turn-based experience, but it's that particular blend of CivV, Alpha Centauri and Total War that makes it one of a kind. Speaking of Alpha Centauri, even though i never had the chance play it right off at its release, i did manage to get a torrent of it some really long time ago. I guess that playing that and then comparing it to CivV was the major reason why i felt CivV to be a let down. Maybe.

Yeah I went straight from Age of Empires to Civ V so I never saw the previous versions and things they missed having in it I don't have much to compare to it as I don't play much strategy games anymore, so Civ V fits my novice strategy level. That said, I never did end up getting Beyond Earth either, and probably won't due to rarely playing Civ in the first place. Dangerous game though, turn based strategy.... there's never an appropriate time to say "Ok, I'll finish this and then quit the game", I usually end up getting sucked into it for hours XD
