This is a 'little' thing i've been working on recently.
It's not the most accurate or the best read ever, but at least it's something new.

Description:
"A young whelp's life takes an abrupt turn. Will the little dragon release her full potential, or be trapped forever in Word Paynn's schemes?"

I've just updated the story, adding 3 chapters.
In this update i also had to redo all the formatting from FF's doc manager in order to give the story the original 'pacing' and spacing in an attempt to hopefully improve reading smoothness.

Here's an excerpt from chapter 8:

The day after, Word had summoned his newest wraith. She was padding slowly across the citadel's hallways when she overheard a pair of human workers conversing outside one of the many R&D labs that resided in the gigantic building.
“So, how's your job doing? Anything to complain about?” The first one, a woman, asked.
“Complain? It's my first work experience, and at Paynn Incorporated nonetheless! Why would I complain?” The second one, a man, answered.
“Well, there are corridor rumors... you know, the kind of rumors that go around the office about your boss...” The woman said.
“Huh, what about them?” The man asked, curious.
“I've heard, that around the citadel there are invisible dragons. Apparently only security and Mr. Paynn himself know of their presence, and only the big boss can actually control them.” The woman whispered, although it was futile since the wraith was only so few meters away from the two.
“Invisible dragons. Have you been up late last night watching a sci-fi movie marathon?” The man teased, snickering as his colleague's face blushed.
“Yes, I have. But trust me, there are things that happen in here that not many know about.” The woman said, a bit angry at her colleague, which simply shook his head as he returned inside the lab.
“Fine! Don't trust me! But don't come saying I didn't tell you anything if something weird happens!” The woman shouted as she went back inside the lab as well, the door slowly and silently closing behind her.
As the door closed shut, the wraith snapped out of it, and noticing she was running late she began a light run towards the place of her summoning.

This is not a bump per-se, but rather something that i want to address.

On FF.net a review popped up...

Two things:
1. The original idea was a Wyldfyr/Geeld pairing, sorry for sinking your ship before it even left the drydock.
2. Even then, it'd be something... platonic. From a technical stand point, Geeld's still a whelp (it is only the 'wraith' side of her that is adult, and even then thats nothing more than the product of a psycological trauma, AND the wraith's a psycho, too), and i doubt that dragons would... well, you know. I think that Beau especially has a stronger moral compass among all dragons.

So, short answer: No, I'm not gonna pair Geeld and Beau.

In Paynn Citadel, meanwhile, Word was analyzing the broken wraith gear that Moordryid brought him back.
“Impossible.” He muttered, disbelieving the results that appeared on his many screens. “How could it possibly have happened?!”
He looked over his shoulders at the black gear that rested on the work table, a number of cables and sensors attached to it as its lights emitted a faint and flickering glow.
“Apparently, I underestimated you, whelp.” He growled at nobody in particular.
Turning around, Word approached the device and looked down to it. He needed a new plan, a way to take the wraith back.
“Gold and black draconiums are far more incompatible than I originally thought.” He mused. He recalled that one time when he tried to poison the Dragon of Legend with his only vial of black draconium. His anger rose when he also remembered how that dragon and its rider then humiliated him and thwarted his plans for the umpteenth time as the golden dragon absorbed the black draconium and only became more powerful because of it. After that, he tried and almost succeeded into enslaving both the Dragon of Legend and the Dragon Booster to his bidding thanks to an ancient trap from the times of the Draconium Empires and a special custom-tailored human wraith gear. That plan failed as well when the gear was overwhelmed by a combination of the heroes' mental efforts and a meddling person he still couldn't track down to this day.
He sat down, grabbed his tools that lay scattered near the gear and set to work on the device.
“If these corrections are right, there will be no escape for you ever again, my wraith.” He hissed as the soldering tool rewired the device. “Now that I know what happened, your mind will be only mine to control.”
Minutes passed as he worked, but his focus was broken when suddenly one of his monitor lit up with a message from one of his informants at the Dragon City Precinct. Word stood up, and headed to the monitor with barely restrained anger, but one he read the message he hurried back to the table to finish his work. He could not afford to waste any time.

After landing on a sparsely trafficked drag-way right in front of a much shocked Bull-class and its rider, Wraith-Geeld kept on running for nearly an hour before sneaking into an alley and taking a break.

"I think... we've lost them..." The wraith hissed as she breathed hard.

She wasn't used at running so much for so long.

Geeld only then appeared in the wraith's vision. Although the golden twin wasn't winded, she could still feel, and was affected by, her body's physical exertion. The wraith spied a look in her golden twin's eyes, and with that she could truly feel what the whelp felt. She was scared and confused.

"Do you... do you want to go home?" The wraith asked her. Geeld simply looked around, but her eyes still maintained that hazy look. Wraith-Geeld took a deep breath to fully steady herself as she felt she recovered enough of her stamina, although it would take some time to properly recover. "We can't go back home. Not yet, anyway."

Geeld lowered her head and began fidgeting with her arms.

Understanding that for now it was not use to talk to her, the wraith looked around. She simply ran for as long as she could, without even looking at where she headed. The fact that neither her or Geeld have ever truly visited the City only added to the problem.

"Now, where to go..." The wraith muttered to herself as she leaned her head out of the alley at the opposite end from where she came.

It seemed that around this part of the city there were very few people, as the street she looked in was thankfully deserted.

She rapidly ducked back into the alley, flattening herself against the building's wall as a DCS officer and his dragon appeared from not too far away at one of the crossing roads further down from where she was looking. The officer and his dragon ran right past her at full speed, the pair not noticing the black dragon whose black hide almost perfectly concealed her presence in the darker alley shadows. Wraith-Geeld leaned forward once more, watching as the officer took another turn to the left at another junction far away.

"They're everywhere..." She muttered. "A place where they'd never go... where would..."

Her mind locked up for a moment. It was once again working automatically, and she could only wait as her body refused to work or move. What is going on, she thought as she felt her mind whirl with information she didn't even know where it came from. Suddenly, flashes came to her eyes, images of some strange shapes and writings. They felt familiar, yet wrong. As the flashes were over, an idea finally came to her mind as she recovered from that mental lock-down.

"Out of the city... We must go out of the city..." She growled, her tone devoid of any emotional inclination.

She looked out in the street, and seeing it was still empty, and with no sirens announcing the approach of her pursuers, she darted out of the alley at a moderate but sustained speed. She knew where to go, although she didn't really understand how it was possible. She had never ventured in the city, and yet she now had a mental map of which roads to take and which not.
