I was just wondering what everyone is obsessing over at the moment, e.g. books, movies, music, food. For me right now, it's sleep (working long hours at work) and working on woodburning crafts!! I'm just loving wood burned art at the moment

One Piece and Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
Hence why I haven't been very DB obsessive recently... :/

I'm not saying this like I still don't love DB, but my attention's currently been on things like Mr. Ed: an old 60's show, My drawings, currently got on FaceBook & Twitter, so that's kept me a little busy, not to mention I've been working on Kirby Abridged, watching Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Heh, and all my time has been going into my workplace- from today it's official, that I have actual contracted full-time hours Until now, it was mostly on a casual basis, with 1 day being contracted. I've been up'ed to 5 now <3 Means I have less time for all my hobbies though :/ Bahh, who needs sleep? I'm making my friend a set of woodburned custom coasters for her 21st birthday, so I'm hoping she really likes them I really need to start watching FMA now that I'm done with the Avatar series o__o

Well TV wise I am obsessing over Star Wars and am waiting patiently for the next season of Game of Thrones, as these two are my favorite shows along with DB. Movie wise I am currently re-watching Dinotopia. Book wise I am reading Eldest (Eragon) and Clash of Kings (Song of Ice and Fire). Foodwise... Pizza... Lots and lots of pizza XD

Agree with you on the pizza there~ I had recently had an insane obsession with eating cheesecake... my co-worker surprised me today with a piece of home-made cheesecake!! (She loves cooking & is REALLY good at it) Now I'm obsessed with her cheesecake, and cooking in general *drools everywhere*

Then I'm sure you don't wanna look at thisWatching Avatar and, I gotta say, Korra Ain't got NOTHING on the original series!! idk why, Avatar just has a better charm to it, maybe it's cause they're just kids and not moody teenagers, maybe it's the timeline idk, it's just better somehow!!

Yes! I haven't watched Avatar in ages, and when I saw Korra for the first time the other day I thought it was no where near as good as Avatar, perhaps I should re-watch Avatar before judging Korra though.

Kora: it's just--ajki---I don't know, it just doesn't "click" like Avatar did, maybe it's the lack of a character like Iroh, or maybe its cause the show takes itself too seriously, idk, it's not bad on it's own, but it's not that good an Avatar sequel.....but I DO like all the Aang flashbacks they put in, sooo not enough of those, I'm only halfway through season 2, with her deranged uncle, the plot twists in Korra are kinda predictable too :/
but I did like this flashback scene:
Toph: Whatever you say Twinkletoes!
Aang: You know Toph, I'm almost 40, do you think you could drop the silly nicknames?
Toph: Not a chance!
hehe, loved that XD

Yeah I FULLY agree with you guys in that the first series of Avatar is FAR better than Legend of Korra. I also can't exactly pin-point my feelings as to why, but I've come up with a few things I think contribute to it: - Aang's avatar state was WAY more powerful than Korra's. It seems like almost each time she does it, she gets her butt kicked. Whenever Aang did, everyone around him shat their pants and either got annihilated or ran away.
- Aang had far more mastery of the elements in less time than Korra had. He kicked butt and had people relying on him as the key fighter to win in battles. Korra gets her butt kicked more often than not and depends on the help of her friends a lot more. Aang was younger than Korra yet he was FAR better as an Air bender than Korra is a Water bender.
- WHY IS KORRA SO MOODY ALL THE TIME. She's older than Aang but acts younger than him, throwing tantrums all the time and complaining about just about everything. The fact that she doesn't respect others either drives me nuts. Tenzin is a fricken Air bending Master and she barely tries to learn much from him at all, and gives up after the slightest thing goes wrong. And don't get me on 'but Aang had issues with Earth Bending'- 2 points regarding that!
1. Earth is the complete opposite of Air- you expect some trouble there. Air is not the opposite to Water, in fact, it's a close relative of Water. Fire is the opposite to Water. 2. Aang got through the biggest blockade with Earth bending in 1-2 episodes. Korra took ridiculously longer than that. - I hate the fact that relationships are so visible and out-there in Legend of Korra- instead of being a subtly that plays in the background of the story plot, about a quarter of the story plot is about the damn relationships between X, Y and Z person. The relationships that were obvious in the first series were pretty darn awesome; Sokka & Princess Yue (I never cry for sad-sap stories related to people- I BALLED MY EYES OUT OVER THIS), Aang & Katara's subtle hints to one another and occasional demonstration of affection and Zuko & May where May admits to Azula that "You miscalculated; I love Zuko more than I fear you." (That ended up being one of the most famous quotes of the series) The only relationship in the first series that could be considered plain & in-your-face was Sokka & Suki, but that's only 1 relationship. We didn't have to deal with the CONSTANT relationship triangle that is Korra, Asami & Mako (and the occasional intrusion of Bolin in all this).

YOU JUST NAILED EVERYTHING WRONG WITH KORRA! ESPECIALLY THE CONSTANT LOVE PROBLEMS It's like; If you remove all the Bending stuff: it's about a bratty, whiny, double standard, teenage girl experimenting with her love life >:[

It was already that anyway, bending was kinda the sideshow instead of being the other way around as it should have been I think

Yep, you nailed everything wrong with Korra. I am not really, and never have been, into relationships/love or whatever, and since Korra has a lot more of it than Avatar may be one of the main reasons I don't like the show as much, that and I think the main character is pretty whiny....
